THE MAN BEHIND
MAR RENOVATIONS
MAR Renovations was created in 2017 by Marlon Acero, a general contractor who finally decided to start his own business.
Marlon Acero graduated from La Universidad de Los Llanos in Villavicencio, Colombia in 2012 with a Bachelors of Economics. He made his dream come true in 2013 to immigrate to Canada and immediately began working in construction, quickly developing a passion and talent for building design and project management. In 2014 he studied Project Management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). After 5 years of full-time experience in flooring and renovations, MAR Renovations was created so that Marlon could begin tackling larger custom projects and expand his potential to help home and building owners like yourself make their space beautiful.
PROJECTS PORTFOLIO
ENGINEERED HARDWOOD INSTALLATIONS
Here are examples of engineered hardwood that were installed in Vancouver, BC. Engineered hardwood is a mix of hardwood and plywood that has been pressure bonded together to create one solid piece of flooring. It is incredibly durable, with a solid hardwood appearance. It is a great option for both residential and commercial purposes and is more stable than solid hardwood flooring, with the ability to be installed on top of concrete subfloors.
VINYL FLOORING INSTALLATION
Vinyl flooring installed in a clients home in 2018. Vinyl flooring is a versatile and cost-effective choice of flooring for any area. It is a great choice for entrances, bathrooms, kitchens or laundry rooms as it is water-resistant, durable and withstands heavy foot traffic.
SUBFLOOR LEVELING
Subfloor leveling completed by Marlon Acero. We use a self-leveling compound which results in a 100% level subfloor every time. We always recommend our clients to have their subfloors levelled before we install their new flooring if there are any uneven surfaces. Why? This will allow us to guarantee a perfectly level floor for years to come, which will eliminate any possible issues to arise in the future such as loose floor boards, gaps between boards, bumps, and creaks.
